USA Research funding gets boost

There was more good news for researchers investigating the cause of CdLS.

Straight after the news that UK research at Newcastle had been saved thanks to a lottery grant from the Community Fund, came the announcement that US-based SAC member, Dr Ian Krantz, (Clinical Geneticist, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia) has been awarded a four-year, US$1 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The grant will fund ongoing molecular research in Dr. Krantz laboratory that should help uncover the elusive sites specifically causing the syndrome.

Dr Kranmz’s team will be working closely with Professor Strachan’s team in Newcastle to ensure that information is shared.
