Party funds
Staff Christmas parties are good fun – but some firms have elected to make it good for charities too.
Foster and Freeman, manufacturers of the scientific equipment used by police and forensic scientists, had no trouble detecting an ideal good cause and raised £500 for CdLS.

| Biking bliss
Children at the Carlisle Hall Playgroup in Carrickfergus Northern Ireland, took part in their own fund raising event with a 10-lap bike ride of their hall. The youngsters raised a remarkable £869. As one of their members is Amy Barlow, the playgroup decided to present the money to CdLS and Amy’s dad Paul collected the cheque on behalf of the Foundation.

Downs and out
Debbie May – mum to Thomas – was walking the South Downs again during the summer with friends and with the matching support from HSBC, she was able to donate £860 to both the CdLS Foundation and to her local hospice near Worthing, Sussex. |

Change counts
A number of CdLS supporters have taken up the suggestion of keeping their small change in a jar and then donating it to the Foundation.
We are grateful to Chris Shackell of Basingstoke for £28.50 and to Viv and Les Wright of March, Cambs who had £45 in their ktchen jar. |

Village voice
Dr Jo Moss hosted a musical summer soiree in London in support of CdLS and raised £1,570.
“I hope it has also raised a little more awareness of CdLS to my friends and family,” Jo said. |

Going going … gone to us
Auctioneers Golding Young received a small sum of money as a goodwill gesture from a long established client. The sum was donated to charity and the Grantham based firm elected CdLS Foundation to receive the funds. A cheque for £25 was given to the Foundation.
