Seventeen year old Rosie Hillier and her family went to see Aled Jones in White Christmas and were treated to a special meeting with the star. “The show was brilliant,” said Tina Hillier, Rosie’s mum. “Rosie was totally bowled over when she recognised Aled’s voice on his first solo and was giggling and waving her arms. Afterwards Aled came over to our box to say hello and spent some time chatting to us and having his photo taken. It was lovely.”

Now Rosie has her 18th birthday on May 5 and her family are organising a ‘mega’ party for her.

“We had talks with other families at the Brighton Conference about having a weekend just for socialising rather than a formal event and this seems the perfect opportunity,” says mum Tina. “We would like to invite all CdLS families as they are an important part of Rosie’s life. “There will be a buffet throughout the afternoon and evening as well as soft drinks, but no alcohol. We suggest instead of buying Rosie a gift perhaps people can donate £5 per head towards the catering fees.” The event will be from 3pm on May 8 at Long Sutton Baptist Church, West Street,Long Sutton, Lincolnshire RSVP: Tina: 01406 701993 April 10.
