Generous pupils of Pinewood Primary School get a lesson in CdLS

Recently children at Pinewood Primary School in Collier Row, Romford raised a generous £280.00 for the CdLS foundation.  Members of the school council ran a 'junk food tuck shop', and the children also made generous donations to come to school out of uniform that day.

Mrs Alison Rich, a teacher at Pinewood, is mum to Eleanor 28, who has CdLS.

Mrs Rich is also secretary of the CdLS Foundation UK,and so was in an excellent position to inform the children and adults at the school, all about the trials and tribulations, as well as the joys, of having a child with CdLS.

"Everyone was very interested and curious to hear about the syndrome," said Mrs Rich.  "I did two assemblies during the week, to the infants and then the junior children, and showed them a powerpoint presentation with photographs. The children wanted to know lots about Eleanor, and all about the similarities between her, and other youngsters with the syndrome.  I was very touched by the generosity shown by everyone, including staff and parents, from such a small school".
