Amy Gunnel celebrated her 18th birthday on the 15th August with the help of an Abba tribute band and family and friends including her fellow CdLS friend Jamie Chui. “Abba Revival, the tribute band, were amazing,” said Heather Gunnel. “We had a great time, especially Amy. The night was a great success with around 300 people attending and we managed to raise a grand total of £2,750. The money was raised by guests paying a £5 entrance fee and a raffle and game of sit
down bingo.”
The fundraising didn’t end there either. “Amy and her grandma, Ann, sold handmade greetings cards at local craft fairs and carnivals to raise money for CdLS. They sold the cards for £1 each and have raised £250, so it gives us great pleasure to be able to hand over a cheque for £3,000 to the foundation. “I would also like to mention Tom Kirkham who gave us a cheque towards the foundation for £145 after he ran in the Leeds 10K run,” said Heather.
