Pass the message to professionals to help your family

Please help spread the word about CdLS

With this issue of Reaching Out you should have received a couple of copies of the booking form for the one-day professionals conference that takes place before the international family conference at Brighton in July.

“We have a great opportunity for the teachers, care workers and other professionals working with people who have CdLS to really understand how they can help people with complex intellectual disabilities and the autistic spectrum disorder,” says Professor Chris Oliver, head of the CdLS UK and Ireland Scientific and Clinical Advisory Team.

“While we are using CdLS as the prime example, professionals will get to hear about how this affects other similar conditions as well.”

The professional conference costs £140 including an overnight stay at the Brighton hotel and is subsidised by the CdLS Foundation.

“We need parents and carers to pass the form out to the professionals who work with the people they care for,” Chris said. “This is the once in a lifetime opportunity. There are some great speakers and the information shared will make a big difference in the knowledge of people caring for children and adults with CdLS and other syndromes.”
